Project Overveiw

Occasionally a project comes up that is somewhat different from our normal experience. This customer is a collector of military memorabilia from World Wars I and II. We were hired to remodel a spare bedroom that would be used to house his collection. The specification included designing and building museum quality cabinetry to display the collection. Special attention to possible damage from UV light was integral to the design along with providing a solution to hang pictures without the use of hardware that would damage them. As the collection is quite extensive, we also had to design cabinetry that not only housed all the collection, but also allows the home owner the ability to show the individual pieces without handling them.

The solution was to design and build cabinetry that included sliding trays that were angled or viewing and incorporated museum quality glass that provides protection from UV light. To solve the hanging picture challenge we built sliding panels that had a metal core. The pictures could then he hung using rare earth magnets.
