Project Location: Bedford, NH

Case Study

After living in their home for a few years, the owners of this Bedford, NH home wanted to remodel their outdated kitchen. Their goal was to create a more functional kitchen with more storage and to add value to the home. They also wanted the new kitchen to be “furniture like” and be a space that they would enjoy. By changing the kitchen layout, moving a window, and suggesting all cherry cabinets, our kitchen designer came up with a plan that met these objectives.

Featuring inset cabinetry with beaded openings, the all cherry kitchen includes an eat-in peninsula that allows friends and family to dine without using the formal dining room. Oversizing the upper cabinets to 14” deep and building the cabinets to the ceiling resulted in significantly more storage. The new layout also included a floor to the ceiling cabinet system that houses the refrigerator, wall oven, microwave and an unexpected pull out pantry cabinet.
The kitchen also includes a wine center and a stand-alone cabinet that is used for additional storage. The elegant crown molding and light rails were designed to “finish” the custom cabinetry.

The tile back splashes, granite counter tops, and oversized floor tiles were carefully chosen to complement each other. By laying the floor tiles at an angle we were able to give the space a larger feel while, at the same time, adding a lot of interest.
